One thing that always amazes me about the human race is how so very similar we all are – and yet in some respects so very different.

In particular… Personally, I don’t really like chocolate. I don’t dislike it… I am just rather neutral.

Which makes me something of an outlier. Almost all of the women I know _love_ chocolate – whether it is mass-produced Cadbury’s or artisan, fair trade, single bean, 80% cacao chocolate (see https://www.dandelionchocolate.com - they have great samples!). Whereas, on occasion, I do buy chocolate, mainly so I can offer it to guests – but then the leftovers might sit on my counter for weeks…

I love it when slaves bring me gifts – as a token of their devotion and respect. But when it is chocolate, I am omewhat underwhelmed. I know they are well intentioned – they are hoping to please me – but their gift of chocolate unfortunately falls flat. I do not punish them for a genuine attempt to please – but I much rather that they brought had a nice Malbec or Cabernet.

So that is helpful guidance for all you slaves who are waiting to book after my hiatus – http://msemilieoxford.com/2017/07/31/hiatus-until-end-august - red wine rather than chocolate!
