Last weekend I was in Las Vegas – and experienced an interesting crossover between my personal and professional lives…. As if two worlds rather pleasantly collided…

On the personal front, the main reason for being in Las Vegas was to attend a “lifestyle” “bi swingers” event (!). To backtrack, a few years ago a friend suggested I join a “lifestyle” (ie swingers) site as a way to meet potential play dates. As it turns out, a fair majority of the people on the site are actually pretty “straight” – homophobic and/or transphobic even. But I have met a whole bunch of lovely people – including one of my sweeties. And while the main site is “straight”, there are a whole bunch of private groups, which are under the radar / invitation only… one of which is for “bi swingers”. And this group arranges an annual “pool party” in Las Vegas, which I have been invited to for the last 2 or 3 years…

The party is actually in a small “gay” resort hotel in Las Vegas. In effect a takeover, where the “bi swingers” take over the whole resort for the weekend. Which does result in some interesting situations when the regular gay clientele come in on days passes at the weekend. But the group of people are rather lovely.  And the boys in the group go wild! To some extent it is rather sad, as for many of them I suspect that this is one of the few times in the year when they can be who they are, and enjoy their sexuality without fear or criticism. But even so, it is pretty impressive, watching them go!

Me… I am more of a slow burner… Hanging out by the pool and socializing… But then, when the people and situation is right, I can really enjoy…

On the professional front, I had marked my ErosGuide ad as “visiting” Las Vegas, and had lined up a few sessions. Which meant that on the first day, I flew in, checked in, got settled in, said hello to people, then caught a taxi across town to a hotel on the Strip for a session. Then on the Sunday, I did the same trip again to a different hotel and client.

How interesting… To leave the poolside, where things were so open and sexual (and free), to arrive at a hotel room for a paid session (which was very much “discreet”). I enjoy both situations, but was conscious of the difference…
